Social Knowledge In Practice SKIP group focuses on social skills development for teens in grades that have been diagnosed with a developmental disability. It will help teens build peer relationships and gain knowledge through a variety of social skills activities.
Participants must have a diagnosed developmental disability and be independent in their basic needs. This group is capped at 30 participants. Gateways is a free service that supports families raising children ages 0 to 18 with developmental disabilities.
Our program connects families to resources and services in the community. For information or any questions please contact: the referral line at The Community Support Team provides community based services to adults with dual diagnosis developmental disability and accompanying mental health diagnosis. We work as allies and believe that all individuals belong in the community regardless of the complexity of their support needs.
Support can range from 5 hours a week to 24 hours per day. Referrals can be made by the individual, family, health care provider, PDD or supporting community members. These services provide highly specialized support to individuals who require complex behavioral and mental health services, and who are also in need of specialized communication interventions as a result of vision loss, hearing loss or both.
Other modes of communications are used based on individual learning styles and needs; every program is matched on an individual basis.
We can provide anywhere from 5 hours of day support per week to 24 hours per day.
